The aim of the project is to collaboratively develop and test a strategy to support health professionals to promote physical activity to their patients – including older adults and persons with physical disabilities – within their daily clinical practice.

The project is currently recruiting participants. If you are interested in being involved, please contact Kate Purcell on kate.purcell@sydney.edu.au.

Part one of the study has been completed and focused on co-design of implementation strategies with health professionals, consumers and physical activity providers.

Part two of the study is a Type 1 hybrid effectiveness-implementation cluster randomised trial (commenced in 2024). In part two we are testing the effectiveness of the implementation strategies and intervention elements recruiting 800 participants across 30 different clinical sites.

This project is being funded by an NHMRC Partnership Grant.
